BetOnSports Dismissed CEO Carruthers

BetOnSports had announced that the company has dismissed jailed David Carruthers as its Chief Executive Officer.

Carruthers, is facing twenty two counts of indictment charges of racketeering, tax evasion and fraud. FBI authorities arrested him as he was traveling from Britain to Costa Rica.

Carruthers is waiting for a bail hearing and is still being detained in Texas jail.

After the arrests, he was still the chief executive of the company but the BetonSports had made a recent announcement that the board of directors is dismissing Carruthers.

Lord Glentoran, Northern Ireland Minister in the House of Lords is included in the BetonSports board of directors.

Clive Parrit is the chairman while Lord Glentoran is a non executive director.

According to sources, Gary Kaplan, the founder of BetOnSports is the real target in the indictment charges.

Kaplan had severed ties with the company in 2004 but is still the largest shareholder.

Carruthers, who joined the company in the year 2000, is considered the only link between Kaplan and the company.

With the dismissal, BetOnSports will not shoulder the legal fees of Carruthers.

Carruthers, who worked in Ladbrokes for twenty four years, had vocally criticized the policy of US about online gambling.
